Preparing for your first class

We’re so excited to welcome you to SCLPT! To help you feel confident and ready, we’ve put together everything you need to know before your first class. From what to bring to what to expect, we’ve got you covered. Let’s make your first step on this journey seamless and inspiring!

Water

BEFORE CLASS

Hydrate: drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated, but avoid overloading right before class.

Fuel your body: especially for our heated classes, we recommend having some food/light snack beforehand. This will not only help your energy levels, but also your recovery.

Athletic clothing: wear comfortable, athletic clothing that allows you to freely move during class. All of our classes are taken without shoes. Grip socks are highly encouraged to increase your stability, otherwise barefoot is our recommendation. Non-grip socks can be unstable, and are not recommended.

What to bring: we recommend bringing water most importantly. You may also bring a sweat towel to either class.

ARRIVING TO CLASS

Arrive early: we ask that you arrive 10 minutes early for your class. This gives us the proper amount of time to welcome you to the studio, introduce you to the reformer or any accessories, and also discuss any injuries/conditions.

Parking: we have onsite parking.

Changing rooms and restrooms: we have 2 single-person restrooms available for changing. We do not have onsite showers.

DURING CLASS

Take breaks: we want you to feel empowered throughout your workout. Take breaks if needed.

Accessories: we may use accessories such as weights during any class. All accessories and advancement are always optional.

Music: we want every class to be fun and leave you feeling inspired to take on your day. We play upbeat music throughout class, and we also begin and end every class with moments of mindfulness and gratitude.

We are here to help: we provide hands-on corrections to help you get the most out of the movement. If anything does not feel good in your body during class, please flag down your instructor and they will be happy to help.

AFTER CLASS

Hydrate: hydration is just as important after class as it is before. We love to also replenish our systems with electrolytes after our heated classes.

Fuel your body: get the most our of your hard work by fueling your body after each workout with protein and other whole foods.

Be proud: we hope you leave our first class feeling proud and accomplished. You just spent 50 minutes investing in yourself and that is something to be proud of.
